For the 2025/2026 school year, we are looking for committed Saturday School Adult Assistants.
The South Bay Deutscher Schulverein (SBDS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit school and teaches the German language and culture in San Jose / Campbell, CA on 30 Saturday mornings during the year. We have 250 students in 21 classes, a lively community with active parents and an average teacher / student ratio of 1:5.
For the beginning of the new school year 2025-2026 SBDS is looking for 2 Adult Assistants for Kindergarten and 1st to 3rd Grade.
Class time: 30 Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a 30-minute recess. Regular pay is for 3 hours per Saturday. Pay rate is $22.10 per hour.
First day of school: Saturday, September 6, 2025
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
- Good German language skills (speaking, reading, and writing) depending on the grade level
- Enjoy working with children or teenagers
- Contribute to create a positive learning environment
- Willing to work with teachers and teenage assistants in the classroom, helping them engage with activities
