South Bay Deutscher Schulverein teachers are engaged, dynamic, creative, and actively involved in the success of the school. Teachers say that teaching at the South Bay Deutscher Schulverein is a labor of love. SBDS offers a teacher training program and low teacher to student ratios. SBDS teachers get to decide the teaching style, class size and materials (curriculum) that will be most effective with their students.

Many teachers also have assistants, many of whom have learned German at SBDS and enjoy working as a teaching assistant. Additionally, SBDS has a music teacher, who complements classes and teaches German through song.

SBDS teachers select course materials from renowned German educational publishers and use a wide variety of German-language games and books in the classroom. For middle school and high school students, teachers are available outside of class time to support students’ learning.
