Registration

The South Bay Deutscher Schulverein (SBDS) accepts registrations beginning in May for the fall semester, which starts in September. Registrations are also accepted throughout the fall for the spring semester for classes that can accommodate additional students.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition is $460 for preschool and elementary school aged children and $480 for teens and adults per semester. 

Family / sibling discounts are available: $60 savings for the 2nd family member and $120 savings for the 3rd family member.

There is an annual membership fee of $40 per family or household. The adult completing the registration form on behalf of the students becomes a Member of SBDS and eligible to vote at the Annual Members Meeting.

Volunteering

SBDS is a member-run school. As such, we rely on the active participation of all our members to keep costs and tuition fees as low as possible. There are many ways to volunteer at the school, for example by donating food or your time at the “cake table” on Saturdays, as Yard Duty on the playground, in the classroom as a volunteer assistant or at one of our events.

Each member family is required to volunteer 3 hours per semester or pay a volunteer waiver. Volunteering is a fun way to get to know people in the German-speaking community in the South Bay. We would love to see you on a Saturday volunteering your time and energy!
